CONTENT – How To – Newsletters

Purpose of this SQ How To: To provide guidance on the process of delivering a Newsletter ‘mailshot’ from initiation to reporting.

Applicable to: Account Managers, Project Managers, Content Team, Reporting

Introduction

Newsletters are predominantly features of Platinum or Gold Retainers, here follows the process from Initiation by the Account Manager to Reporting. Newsletters for lower level clients should only be by special request from the client. 

Initiation

Initiation is done by Account Managers in accordance with a clients  strategy (Platinum) or plan (Gold) in order to support or help deliver publicity for a clients products or services. Other goals may occur. 

It may be necessary to canvas the client on their goals and expectations and to elicit specific content information from them.  

Tasks

Once the AM feels they have enough information to give to the Content team then two tasks are to be created by a Project Manager – one for written content and one for design content. Once these are completed these are combined into one document/block of code which is then QC’d / proofed (?)

Tracking and metrics

If possible or necessary, tracking and metrics triggers/mechanisms are put in place by….?

Final sign off

The completed Newsletter is passed to the Account Manager for final sign off/client approval. 

Action Newsletter

The Newsletter is setup in Mailchimp and scheduled for launch. 

Reporting

Metrics and feedback for the AMs / client.
